Harvesting trees for biomass energy production is one of the fastest growing markets in the UK for roundwood. Treewood Harvesting has been supplying raw material for this market from the start. As an example of our growing experience we supply major airports and power stations across the country as well as smaller biomass plants.
We also provide a contract chipping service using an imported purpose-built tracked machine from the USA which is the largest and most productive of its type in the UK. This machine currently produces biomass chip for a major power station at a rate of 100 tonnes per hour with a maximum roundwood diameter of up to 1.2 metres.
